Hurray for Me

I found out yesterday that I got that promotion. Wheeeeeeeeee. Victory lap.

End celebration.

My new boss reminds me of my old Sunday school teacher. After she made the offer, and I accepted, she said sternly, “I hope you’re ready. We have high expectations for this.”

I was too busy contemplating my new stock options to really concern myself with (or respond to) anything she was saying, but afterward when I was reliving the moment in my head, I became paranoid.

Did she say that because she’s heard bad things about me? Or was she trying to imply that this new job is going to require crazy hours?

Who cares? This is awesome.

Congratulations and Woohoo for you!

I think bosses feel like they have to say things like that, just in case you might be thinking that you'll try some shenannigans.

Congratulations! and it's the latter, since they wouldn't have promoted you if they heard bad things. More likely, they've seen and heard great things.

Now you're gonna have so much money you're not gonna know what to do with it! Well, that TV's a pretty good start. :)

Congrats!

You wouldn't have gotten a promotion if she'd heard the rumors about you... :)

So, just expect to work hard and you'll be fine.

Congrats! I would hope they would have high expectations of you since it is a promotion. I think it kind of goes without saying.

Yaah for you!

Love your Lenten update thingee. Isn't 138 meals not eaten at restaurants a staggering figure!

Congratulations! I hope thigs work well for you, and I hope you don't get smitten down for eating out that one time. If you do, it will be a very expensive meal.

I had a ream last night with a former boss in it, and he was disappointed. Screw him.

Ok, I'm a fool and didn't read it properly :-S Only 40 meals down. Still a good tally huh? Duh to me, it must be lunch time...

So are you finally go promoted to "pencil sharpener." All those years of emptying the pencil shavings out of the sharpener paid off. Don't spill.

Great. Less blogging. :(

Are you a supervisor? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that the answer to that question is "no".

Let me guess? Your shriveled up new boss sees you as her eventual replacement? Of course she's being stern with you! You'll NEVER be as ready as she was at her age...

I'm happy for you. Way to go.

You are really climbing the corporate ladder now! You make it to the top faster if you step on everyone else on the way there.
