Okay.
This is kind of random, and I'm planning to add a more robust post tomorrow, but I just found out from the V.P. of my department that I'm likely going to get to go to China for a project at the beginning of next year.
He said that it'll be for several weeks. I've been gunning to get transferred out there for maybe a year or two to work on the new finance team (my company is currently in the process of expanding into China), and, if this works out, it'll really add some strength to my case for going out there.
I'll be at least a foot taller than everybody there,* which I think might be my ticket to popularity. Also, Shanghai is supposed to have a huge ex-pat community, lots of internationally acclaimed restaurants and a monsoon season. It all sounds new and exotic. I hope it works out ... though I will miss all my ho's and bitches back in Chicago if I do get to go. They will likely be pleased to have a brief respite from myself, however, so perhaps that's the silver-lining.
*Note that I'm 5'9 without heels.
Is it weird that the phrase 'Ch-Ch-Ch-China' keeps playing in my head on an endless loop to the tune of the chia pet jingle?
Sorry, I just had to tell somebody, and I don't feel like getting up to walk over to one of my co-workers' desks at the moment.
I am lazy.
Also, did you know the word 'facetiously' has all of the vowels in alphabetical order? I really hope that I'm forced to utilize this information in a life or death situation at some point in the future.
